In astrology, think of the Sun as a Main Star actor and the 12 signs (Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Sagittarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces) as different characters it can play. For example, the Sun “placed” in Leo has its own unique traits as compared to Sun “placed” in Virgo sign.

You can also imagine these 12 houses as being like different houses in a neighborhood. Each house, has a distinct environment that affects how the Sun, or our actor, behaves.

Now, the Sun ( source of Sun Sign in Astrology) doesn’t just have an acting role—it’s also a symbol of several aspects of your life. It represents your energy levels, your sense of self, how much respect you have for yourself, your social standing, your health, your eyesight, your physical strength, your ability to lead others, your relationship with father figures, and your relationship with your son or grandson.

In the attached video, I’ve gone over how the Surya behaves when it’s “living” in each of the 12 houses and playing each of the 12 signs. This is just a broad overview and can be tweaked depending on the unique mix of signs and houses in your own astrological chart.

The reason I’m explaining all this is to help you understand the basic character of the Surya when it’s in different signs and houses. It’s a bit like understanding how an actor might perform differently based on the character they’re playing and the setting they’re in.

Sun combustion Range

In astrological, the Surya, often referred to as the ‘Royal King‘ possesses a powerful aura that can overwhelm nearby celestial bodies. This means if any other planets are close to the Sun in your birth chart, you might have a “combust” planet.

A combust planet is one that has lost its strength or voice due to being too close to the Surya. Essentially, it’s like a planet that has lost its power to influence. This typically occurs when a planet is within 1 Navamsha degree (which is roughly 3 degrees and 20 minutes) before or after the Surya’s degree.

Why Shani and Surya are Enemy in Astrology

In astrology, Saturn (also known as Shani) is considered an adversary to the Surya. This stems from the fact that the 7th house is seen as the house of enemies in a horoscope, and Leo, the Surya’s home sign, is directly across from (or 7 houses away from) Aquarius, the home sign of Saturn.

Furthermore, the Surya is most powerful (or exalted) in the sign of Aries, where Saturn is weakest (or debilitated). On the other hand, the Surya is weakest (or debilitated) in Libra, where Saturn is most powerful (or exalted).
