Diwali – How to Make it Fully Productive

Diwali or Dipawali , we all are known to this famous name, As this is the most celebrated festival in entire world.

This festival has the eternal tradition for lighting up the clay lamps(Deepak) on the darkest night of Kartik (Usually comes in Last October or in November till Mid Date ) Maas (Month).

On Dipawali or Diwali we have one more ritual which almost everyone performs despite of Being Atheist or Theist.

Laxmi Pujan or ” Worshipping of Goddess Laxmi” is the ritual that i am speaking right above, Because of this ” Dipawali” is known as the “Mahaparv” (Master of All Festivals/Celebration).

Diwali in 2018 – Dates to Remember

  1.  Dhanters – November 5 (Monday) – Kuber Puja , Dhanvantari Puja (Time- 18:04 to 20:00).
  2. Narak Chaturdashi (Choti Dipawali)- November 6 (Tuesday) Yam Deepak (Time 17:28 to 18:47 ).
  3. Dipawali – November 7 (Wednesday) Auspicious time(Muhurat) for Laxmi Pujan (Time 17:56 to 19:52).
  4. Bhai Dooj – November 9(Friday) Auspicious time for Sarv Sidhi Yog (Time 13:08 To 15:16 ).

 

How to Perform Diwali “Laxmi Pujan”

  1. Face the North or East Direction while sitting for Puja.
  2. Use Red,White or Yellow Colored Cotton fabric with Swastika Sign (written by “Haldi” Turmeric) on Chowki (Table).
  3. Now Make Ashtdal Kamal
  4. Above all scatter few pieces of Rice and Flowers and Place ” Maa Laxmi” Pratima/Murti .
  5. While placing mata pratima , be very sure that you keep her right to Sri Ganesh Pratima/Murti.
  6. Without the Sri Vishnu, this puja can not be accomplish therefore keep Sri Vishnu pratima right to Sri laxmi. In Nutshell Sri Laxmi will be in the middle of Sri Vishnu and Sri Ganesha.
  7. Finally after doing above said things, Install the Parad Shivlingam(Mercury Made).
  8. First of all, You need to perform abhishek with ganga jal and unused Milk to this parad shivling. Most Noteworthy, you need not to use Conch (Shank) while doing Abhishek.
  9. Fill the conch (only dakshinavarti Shank) with ganga jal and do the abhishek of Sri vishnu.
  10. In case you have silver Sri Laxmi-Ganesha or Parad Sri Laxmi, Please do the abhishek of Sri laxmi now.
  11. Now place the kalash filled with Water (Few Drops of gangajal in it),Rice and Few Coins.
  12. Now Scatter few more rice of the right side of chowki and place this filled kalash.
  13. If possible keep 9 leafs of Mango Tree. ( Mango Leafs are Good for Monetary Gains).
  14. Now take the nariyal(coconut) and wrapped it with red cloth with front side opened and place it on this kalash(See this). This is the symbol of Varun Deva.
  15. Now Initiate the Bhog to Divinity by Offering Fruits,Sweets,Flowers,Dry-fruits and So on.
  16. Utensil(Must Buy – Bowl and Glass) that you have bought on Dhanters(November 5 (Monday), fill it with Tapioca Sago recipe (sabodana kheer) and offer a bhog only to Sri Laxmi (U can eat afterwards).
  17. Now Do the Prayer to Lord Shiva with these shloka
    विश्वेश्वराय नरकार्णवतारणाय
    कर्णामृताय शशिशेखरधारणाय।
    कर्पूरकांतिधवलाय जटाधराय
    दारिद्रयदुःखदहनाय नमः शिवाय ॥1॥
    गौरीप्रियाय रजनीशकलाधराय
    कालान्तकाय भुजंगाधिपकङ्कणाय।
    गङ्गाधराय गजराजविमर्दनाय ॥
    दारिद्रयदुःखदहनाय नमः शिवाय . ॥2॥
    भक्तिप्रियाय भवरोगभयापहाय
    उग्राय दुर्गभवसागरतारणाय।
    ज्योतिर्मयाय गुणनामसुनृत्यकाय ॥
    दारिद्रयदुःखदहनाय नमः शिवाय॥3॥
    चर्माम्बराय शवभस्मविलेपनाय
    भालेक्षणाय मणिकुण्डलमण्डिताय।
    मञ्जीरपादयुगलाय जटाधराय ॥
    दारिद्रयदुःखदहनाय नमः शिवाय॥4॥
    पञ्चाननाय फणिराजविभूषणाय
    हेमांशुकाय भुवनत्रयमण्डिताय।
    आनंतभूमिवरदाय तमोमयाय ॥
    दारिद्रयदुःखदहनाय नमः शिवाय ॥5॥
    भानुप्रियाय भवसागरतारणाय
    कालान्तकाय कमलासनपूजिताय।
    नेत्रत्रयाय शुभलक्षणलक्षिताय ॥
    दारिद्रयदुःखदहनाय नमः शिवाय ॥6॥
    रामप्रियाय रघुनाथवरप्रदाय
    नागप्रियाय नरकार्णवतारणाय।
    पुण्येषु पुण्यभरिताय सुरार्चिताय॥
    दारिद्रयदुःखदहनाय नमः शिवाय ॥7॥
    मुक्तेश्वराय फलदाय गणेश्वराय
    गीतप्रियाय वृषभेश्वरवाहनाय।
    मातङग्‌चर्मवसनाय महेश्वराय ॥
    दारिद्रयदुःखदहनाय नमः शिवाय ॥8॥
    वसिष्ठेन कृतं स्तोत्रं सर्वरोगनिवारणम्‌।
    सर्वसम्पत्करं शीघ्रं पुत्रपौत्रादिवर्धनम्‌।
    त्रिसंध्यं यः पठेन्नित्यं स हि स्वर्गमवाप्नुयात्‌
    दारिद्रयदुःखदहनाय नमः शिवाय ॥9॥
  18. You may also read Sri Vishnu Shahastrnamam and Sri AshtLaxmi Mantra and Shama Prathna (Prayer for mistake if unconsciously done while doing puja), Most Noteworthy, when you want to finish the puja , you need to recite Sri Hanuman Chalisa in the end to complete the Entire Puja Vidhi.

मन्त्रहीनं क्रियाहीनं भक्तिहीनं जनार्दन । 
यत्पूजितं मया देव परिपूर्णं तदस्तु मे ।।
